A person can start working towards an NVQ even at old age (we know some 65-year-olds who have qualified), and at any time (you don’t start in September, and finish the following June like typical school). You could either do your NVQ in the workplace or at colleges/ training centres, or by studying at home.

Your employer assigns to you a trained assessor, who looks for evidence that you can consistently carry out different jobs to the required standards. Your assessor will observe you at work and ask you some questions, to establish that you know what you are doing and why. There’s no catch and there is no pass or fail, you are simply assessed when you and your assessor think you are ready.

You are expected to gather evidence using a few of the different methods such as:

Direct observation at work
Reflective accounts
Witness testimony
Work products
Case study
Training certificat
Written oral questioning

Exam results generally do not tell an employer how competently someone can do a job: they simply measure their ability to remember things and write them down. People go on courses; they return to work, and there’s often little follow-up or assessment of how their t

I discovered my interests lay in reading and music, these hobbies of mine exposed me to the emotional components of human beings, their needs and ways of solving problems as I read stories about people. My parents always told me that from my tender age I always displayed a caring nature, always interested in giving a helping hand around the home. My religion also formed a bedrock of strong believe that I was born to be a helping hand to people around me. Some of the subjects I offered in my secondary school level made me believe I was capable of studying Human beings, like biology and Chemistry. When I completed my secondary school I realized my desires where modified I could itemize my strengths and weaknesses to a better degree.

I decided I’ll rather follow the pathway of helping people solve social and psychological problems as well as physical care rather than medical problems. I believe this decision was also based on my assessment of my ability to study medicine which I found
